Michael Joseph, the former CEO of Safaricom has resigned from his post as the chairman of Kenya tourism board. He led the Safaricom to become one of the best Kenya mobile companies in Kenya and in East and central Africa. Upon him leaving Safaricom, Michael was appointed 6 months ago as the chairman of Kenya Tourism board. Expectations were high that he was to turn the board into a success story just as he did with Safaricom. Since he led Safaricom to its success, it was expected that he was to tap into the rapid growth of Kenya ICT  and diversify the Tourism industry to tap into other areas that were not being showcased to the world.
Michael has decided to leave the Kenyan Tourism Board to go and concentrate on the new portfolio he was appointed as the World Bank advisor in the use of Mobile money transfer.  He is credited to have helped the Country famous Mobile money transfer system, Mpesa to be what it is today.
